Placing an order means you accept what is on this page. It is written to be read rather than to be skipped, so it is short.

What the product is
A one ounce vial of undiluted fragrance oil, for use in a warmer or a diffuser, and a printed card carrying four passages of scripture.
It is for scenting a room. It is not for skin, it is not for swallowing, and it is not a medicine. Do not put it on your body, do not drink it, and keep it away from eyes, children and pets. It is not a cosmetic, not a perfume, not a food product, and it is not offered to treat, cure or prevent any condition. Fragrance is among the most common contact allergens and this is the concentrated form of it.
Fragrance oil is combustible. Never heat it in a warmer without water in the dish. Full handling instructions are on care and ingredients, and buying from us means you have read them and will follow them.
Orders and payment
All prices are in United States dollars. Shipping is a flat $7.95 and is free over $45.00. Sales tax, where it applies, is shown before you pay. There is no charge you find out about afterwards.
Payment is taken by Stripe. Your card details go to them and never to us. An order is not accepted until it is paid for, and we may decline or cancel one and refund it in full, which is what happens if something sells out between the order and the packing.
We ship within the United States only. Prices and the range can change, but never for an order already placed.
All sales are final
We do not accept returns or exchanges, and we do not refund a fragrance you decided you did not like. Fragrance oil is a sanitary product and the postage on a small glass bottle costs more than what is inside it.
If it arrives broken, leaking, or it is not what you ordered, that is our mistake and not a return. Send a photograph within thirty days through the contact form. We replace it, we pay the postage, and you do not send the first one back.
Nothing here takes away a right you have under consumer law that cannot be signed away.

Using the site
The writing, photography, artwork, names and design here are ours, and the Oil and Ashes name and mark are ours. Read any of it, quote a bit of it with a link, and do not lift it wholesale for a competing product.

What we do not claim
We describe how memory and association work with smell. We do not claim any product here treats, cures or prevents anything, physical or otherwise, and nothing on this site is medical, psychological or spiritual advice. It is not a substitute for a doctor, a counsellor or a pastor, and we say so on why scent at more length than most companies would.
To the extent the law allows it, our liability for any order is limited to what you paid for it. We are not liable for loss caused by using the oil in a way these terms and the care page tell you not to.
Law, changes and getting hold of us
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Georgia, United States, and a dispute goes to the courts there.
We may change this page. The date at the top changes with it, and the version in force for your order is the one that was up when you placed it.
